Caterpillar Bowl
Description
This is a hand made porcelain bowl with a cheeky little sculpture detail. It was thrown on a potters wheel. I then sculpted the little figure and added it to the bowl. It has a simple clear glaze with gold lustre detail. Finally coloured glass was added to the inside of the bowl to create a focus for the eye to draw you in.
Approximate size is 15x36 cm
This is part of a trio of bowls so please go and look at the others. These pieces are a one off limited edition so once they are gone they are gone!
Inspiration
This trio of bowls was inspired by the characters from the story of Alice In Wonderland. They were made for an exhibition to do with children's stories. I wanted to try my hand at sculpting whilst still having something large and challenging to throw. I really enjoyed creating the little figures and think they give the pieces real character.
