St. George's Day Dragon Bookmark
Description
A fire breathing dragon rears up against a red St. George cross on this beadwork bookmark in honour of St. George's Day.
The main part of the bookmark is worked in a combination of peyote stitch, netting stitch (suggesting armour) and fringing. The long tail is the part that sits inside the book, worked in a simple two-bead herringbone stitch, with an heraldic cross charm at the end.
The entire bookmark measures 12" (315mm), the tail part measures 7.5" (195mm) so it will fit inside most regular sized books, with just the fringe part sticking out for longer books.
This bookmark is more masculine than most handmade bookmarks, ideal for the book loving man in your life!
