This listing is for 'ROCKING HORSE' bunting (15 flags). A beautiful touch to bedroom, playroom or family room.
These flags look great hanging on a chimney breast, wall or by the window (watch the light passing through the delicious washi). The paper is so light that it flutters gently in even a breath of air, appears delicate but is really strong.
This set is made up of my original linocut designs, medium length (approx. 1 metre 70cms excluding endtapes) handprinted with professional printmaking inks on handmade Japanese Washi (Kawanaka 29gsm) and strung on Dutch linen tape.
A bit about the paper – chosen for its particular qualities, Kawanaka is the perfect paper for my handprinted art-flag bunting as it is handmade with long fibres it is very strong yet holds a transparent delicate quality found only in paper made with such skill and care.
The designs show through to the reverse, delightful for bunting strung into the room or at a window. Where I can, I include the beautiful raw edges for their character and charm.
Colours in this set are cheerful mango, orange, cherry and lime. Yum.
Inspiration
I have long coveted the traditional Dala horses from Sweden and when my son suggested rocking horses (we have two ourselves, one small and one enormous beauty called Daisy) it seemed only natural to combine the two favourites into something new - here with a burst of Spring/Summer fruitiness!
