Recycled Victorian Floorboard Mirror

Description

** NB: I've just reduced the price of the mirror to £50 (from £70) as I need to make room for new creations! **

The boards I used in making this mirror are original Victorian floorboards salvaged from a floor restoration (the boards had sadly split down their centres and had to be replaced).

The timber is full of character, with the dinks and scars of a century's use; I deliberately left the boards as untouched as I could. The only treatment I've applied is a rigorous washing and scrubbing of the boards prior to the carpentry (to remove a century's work of muck and grease). So the piece is perfectly clean enough to hang.

The mirror glass is also recycled and was cut from a damaged and abandoned Edwardian dresser. The glass is rebated into the back of the timber frame.

I also kept a few of the original iron nails from the floor restoration and have set them into the front of the mirror to be used as key hooks.

The mirror is approximately 700mm x 400mm with the glass being approximately 400mm x 200mm.

Thanks for looking. Please check out my other listings for more mirror related adventures.
