Rosebud Pink Wool Ribbon Flower
Description
These are handmade flowers in a soft hand-dyed wool ribbon. The colour reminds me of dried rosebuds, a mix of soft pink and brown with flashes of pale green. I finish each flower with a natural shell button centre.
I make the flowers on my vintage flower loom using beautiful hand-dyed ribbon yarns, and finish each one with a button centre. Then I securely stitch each flower to a green fabric wrapped stem. The stem is quite flexible, and can be bent or even wrapped around something; and the weight of the flower head gives the stem a nice natural curve when the flowers are displayed in a vase.
The flowers are 3" (8cm) across and the stems are 9" (23cm) long (measurements are approximate). As the flowers are all individually handmade yours may differ slightly from the photographs shown.
Inspiration
ffflowers were born when I was experimenting with my set of vintage flower looms one day. I added a button centre and a stem to my flower and found I had come up with something a bit different from the usual.
Now I create ffflowers from all sorts of different materials, ranging from beautiful ribbons hand-dyed in the UK, to novelty yarns, and even upcycled plastic packaging.
I know I'm biased, but I think they're a whole lot more quirky and fun than regular artificial flowers and they make lovely accessories too. I hope you agree!
