Inspiration
Chris Rhodes wrote the stories for his niece, inspired by his concerns about the changing global environment. By chance, Chris caught-up with a mutual friend and mentioned he was looking for an illustrator. She put the two of us in touch and “Hippy the Happy Hippopotamus” was born! Over the course of 14 months, I devoted my weekends to sketching, drawing, re-working and colouring the 20 illustrations and much more to create this final version.
