Clematis William Kennett Crochet Pattern pdf
Description
This Clematis is a crocheted replica of "William Kennett".
I have used a combination of DMC Petra and Perle in both No.5 and No.8. Perle and Petra are the same but Petra comes in bigger balls making it more economical. The colour range, however, is a lot more limited.
The first part of the pattern is not specific instructions but guidelines for planning and creating any size frame and the stem system to fit it.
The leaves, flowers, buds and fluffy heads are conventional patterns with plenty of pictures to help explain some of the more difficult bits.
The Clematis uses a few different techniques in its creation. These include Thread Painting, short row crochet and loop stitch.
All of my patterns are delivered by email in pdf format. As they are delivered in this way, postage is free to anywhere in the world.
Please make sure that my email adress is added to your safe list so that I am able to deliver them promptly, also make sure you have the latest pdf reader to open them.
Please state whether you would like UK or US terms on your Paypal payment.
And if you can't crochet, contact me to ask about a finished item.
Inspiration
The original Clematis started off as a summer project for my local Craft and Lace group. I didn’t plan on it taking me all summer to make - and that was after I had made the original frame smaller!
It is 79cm x 52cm. It has a total of 270 leaves, 9 flowers, 15 buds and 9 fluffy heads. It cost well over £60 in thread alone in 2010 and took between 200 and 250 hours over 6 months.
I have used a variety of techniques including thread painting, short row crochet and loop stitch to create the finished effect.
