Light drawing orginal artwork
Description
This original artwork has been made of layers of black fabric which has been free machined with around 7 different colours of thread.
It was inspired by a photograph that I took of light drawings, which is where you can swirl the camera around on a slow shutter speed when taking pictures of lights at night. This particular one was taken of Hull’s dock from the back the back of a ship at night time.
This piece is really unusual and stands out, you really get to appreciate it more when you see it up close, I have tried to photograph it but I have to say it does look better first hand. It is the only one I have; I will never be able to reproduce it so you know that it is truly a one of a kind special piece.
It has been signed and dated on the back

Inspiration
I love free machining, it is a technique where you literally draw with the needle and thread using a sewing machine and a special machine foot. It is one of my favourite things to do because the results are always different depending on the stitch lengths, speed, threads and machine tensions.
