From my studio in the garden I often see butterflies but still I like to create stained glass ones to hang in my windows. This small panel has a fantastic shimmering teal butterfly surrounded by a thin blue rectangular border.

I have used an irridised teal glass which shines out with different colours as you walk past it. The pleasure of this glass is that when seen in direct sunlight the teal colour is most obvious but when there is less light the shimmering effect takes over.

The panel is approx 17cm wide by 13cm tall and has been made using the copper foil technique (Tiffany).

Wire has been soldered in to the back so that the panel can be hung.Wire has also been used to create the antennae. It will arrive with fishing line strung between the wires so that it can be hung straightaway but you can easily remove it and attach ribbon or chain.
