Fiddleback sycamore is the main wood I've used for this box. 'Fiddleback' or ripple sycamore has an amazing figuring and is prized for its use in violin making. The stripe in the lid and the 'slip feathers' along the box's corners are walnut.
The box measures about 7" x 5 1/2" x 3 1/2", has beautifully rounded corners and contains a lift-out tray with hand-cut dovetailed construction; also in sycamore. Beneath the tray is a copy of The Bible for christenings in its own slip case. Lining is of silver coloured crushed velvet.

This is definitely a one-off.
