Union Jack Diamond Jubilee Brooch
Description
I made some beaded Union Jack (correctly - Union Flag) brooches last year and they sold out pretty quickly. So this year I decided to make them in red white and silver to mark this very special year, with a little diamond shape in the centre of the St. George's cross.
The brooches are on 5cm long kilt pins and the brooch itself measures 34mm x 30mm.
This is what all the best dressed Jubilee celebrants will be wearing this year!
HOW I MADE IT
I worked out the pattern on graph paper and, using peyote stitch, stitched each bead one at a time, making sure to pick up the right colour each time. Each brooch takes 2-3 hours to make.
Inspiration
These Union Jack flag brooches are such fun to make (and popular too!) that I thought I would celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee by making them with silver beads instead of white, with a little diamond shape in the middle.
