Papaya Handmade Ribbon Flower
Description
These are handmade ribbon flowers in a warm orange and pink mix ribbon hand-dyed in the UK. Each flower is finished with a fresh yellow button.
I make the flowers on a flower loom using beautiful ribbon yarns. I finish each flower with a different button centre and then securely stitch it to a green fabric wrapped stem. The stem is quite flexible, and can be bent or even wrapped around something; and the weight of the flower head gives the stem a nice natural curve when the flowers are displayed in a vase.
The flowers are 3" (7.5cm) across and the stems are 9" (23cm) long (measurements are approximate). As the flowers are all individually handmade yours may differ slightly from the photographs shown.
Inspiration
I created my first ffflower when I was experimenting with my set of vintage flower looms; I added a button centre and a stem to my flower and decided I really liked the result.
Now I make a whole range of quirky artificial flowers from all sorts of different materials, ranging from beautiful ribbons hand-dyed in the UK, to novelty yarns, and even upcycled plastic packaging.
