Inspiration
The wonderful open-air Minack Theatre, near Porthcurno, Cornwall, is set back against the cliff and the stage back drops away to the sea below. Day performances can be 'disrupted' by the appearance of dolphins showing off before their captive audience. Evening performances have their own special magic. You wrap up warmly, take a picnic and apart from stunning and atmospheric performances on the stage before you, you may witness the moon rising over dark cliffs and water. You could also sit watching in the teeth of wind and rain, but that may be the subject of another wood engraving!
