Fluorite glows when heated and fluoresces under ultraviolet light, hence its name which originates from the latin verb fluorite meaning to flow, it can be found in Argentina, Austria, Canada, China, UK and other western european countries as well as, as far afield in places like Mexico, Namibia and Morocco.
