This cute doggy candle is the perfect gift for any dog lover!! The candle was made by rolling out slabs of clay and then cutting out 2 dog shapes and a band to join the two. I stuck the pieces using slip (clay glue) I scored in a nose, ears and eyes. It was then left to dry and fired to 980C.

Once it had cooled down in the kiln, I hand painted it using glazes, matt textured, speckled brown for the head and black gloss for the nose, eyes and ears. The candle was then fired again, this time to 1160C.

After leaving it to cool again, I filled the candle with a white scented wax, and put some felt on the bottom.

The candle is 7cm tall, 8cm wide and 4.5 cm deep.
