This cute owl candle is the perfect gift for any owl lover!! The candle was made by rolling out slabs of clay and then cutting out 2 owl shapes and a band to join the two. I stuck the pieces using slip (clay glue) I scored in feathers, wings and eyes. It was then left to dry and fired to 980C.

Once it had cooled down in the kiln, I hand painted it using dark blue gloss and orange gloss glazes. The owl was then fired again, this time to 1220C.

After leaving it to cool again, I filled the candle with a red, berry scented wax, and put some felt on the bottom.

The candle is 6cm tall, 6cm wide and 4.5 cm deep.
