The method I describe, enables you to make the book with mimimal equipment and measuring.
You will need the following materials:
leather, glue, paper and waxed cord.
And the following tools:
a large-eyed needle or bodkin, a sharp craft knife, metal ruler and bradawl or hole punch.
Making this book requires skill in cutting, folding, tearing, glueing and sewing but if you are used to making things, you will find it straightforward.
The instructions include useful tips on grain and on tearing paper.
The file will be in PDF format and may be printed for personal use.
Inspiration
I love making books, the materials, the process, the tactile qualities involved in bookbinding, the design process. It's all great fun and very rewarding. It's lovely to hold in your hand, the results of your own labour.
