The Sun and Moon rule over our long hazy summer days and dark wintery starry nights, this pair of plates were inspired by this traditional motif ready to serve you throughout the seasons.

I created each of these plates by throwing them on my potters wheel using white devonshire stoneware clay. Each one has a flat eating area made my compressing the clay downwards and a beveled upward rim to form the edge of each plate. The bottom of each plate has a shallow foot ring on the bottom so that they'll sit flat on your dining table.

Each plate was decorated with a brown slip to create the sun and moon motifs and then glazed over in a glossy pepper yellow giving an earthy traditional look.

This set can be cleaned in the dishwasher.

- Sun plate is 9.2 inches (23.5 cm) in diameter and 1.3 inches (3.5 cm) in height.
- Moon plate is 9 inches (23 cm) in diameter and 1.3 inches (3.5 cm) in height.

As much as I love our furry friends my pottery is created in a pet free and smoke free studio.
