Enchanted Matroyshka: Orange Leafy Headscarf
Description
A Murgatroyd & Bean original, handcrafted design
The lovely Matroyshka, in her colorful robes, was cursed by the gnarly, twisted witch known as Grimla, who proclaimed instant death to any Matroyshka pricked by the thorns of a Hawthorn bush. On hearing this wicked curse, a counter-spell was uttered by Leffia, a kindly Tree Spirit. Although unable to stop the curse completely she was able to change it's power so instead of instant death, a thorn prick would mean falling into a peaceful sleep for 100 years.
If you would like to look after Matroyshka while she sleeps, you need to keep her somewhere warm & safe. It may be some time before she wakes but when she does, if you have been kind to her, she will bring you good fortune.
Each Matroyshka is a one-off. Details on her face, body and headdress have been embroidered by hand.
Her headress is made from silk tafetta, spotty cotton and wool felt on a vintage cotton base covered with a 50's style leaf pattern.
Her body has been made from a beautiful piece of woolly, dogtooth tweed, a swaddle of red floral cotton and she is padded with polyfibre.
Measures approx: 28cm x 16cm (11 x 6.5)
