In mythology the Green Man is the spirit of the woods and vegetation who dies in autumn and returns in the spring. Sometimes he is known as Jack in the Green, the Old Man of the Woods, Green George and many other things but the common theme is that of the cycle of life: birth, death and rebirth.

This unique Green Man brooch has been sculpted entirely in polymer clay using no moulds. I made a polymer clay cane for the leaves - there are 24 including those for his moustache and eyebrows! He is 5cm in diameter and is presented wrapped in tissue paper in a black card gift box.
