This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
I designed this for a commission for a customer and customised that one with a baby's name and birthdate. I liked it so much I immediately added it to my 'catalogue' and this is now the third I have made. This one is in shades of red.
It is a simple heart shape but a patchwork arrangement of 16 pieces, half of pure red glass and the other 8 in white streaked blood red glass. I am really delighted with this mixture of shades.
The heart is 5 iinches high and 4 wide. Looks stunning hanging in the window where it catches the light and will brighten any room.
I have used some lovely glass in this piece, some streaky, some textured so it has movement as well as colour.
A silver coloured little chain is securely attached to the top of the suncatcher with a little ring to hang it.
This item is absolutely unique. I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass. The first and last photos are of the heart for sale here. The 2nd and 3rd are of the other two I have made, the pink one is personalised ( plus £1) with a name and date in little beads.
This would make a wonderful present for Valentine or Mothers day.
