The Birds Trampled the Leaves Fine Cotton Knit Scarf for Spring

Description

Perfect for the bracing spring days, this soft cotton will keep you snug without making you too hot.

One day a while back I came home to find a perfect trail of birds feet prints through my snow-covered patio table and I've been thinking about those birds' adventures ever since. I just knew they would have to crop up on my designs and here they are... walking through a trail of knitted-on triangle embellishments that fall down each end of the scarf like autumn leaves.

This scarf is knitted from very fine supersoft pure cotton in rich maroon, deep chocolate and warm ochre. Ten broad stripes alternate through it and it's doubled over and securely hemmed so it lies nice and flat.

It's good and long so you can wear it in a huge number of ways - tie it, loop it, wind it round and round or leave it long like Dr Who. (He had to be in there somewhere....)

Birds' feet are hand-embroidered on.

All scarves are one of a kind, so you are buying a unique piece of work.

Measurements of scarf:

Length: 196 cm (about 77)
Width: 12.5cm (about 5)

Hand or very cool machine wash and dry flat. You can iron this on not-too-hot.

Many thanks for looking at Cheese at Fourpence!

Inspiration

Getting up one morning to see a perfect circle of birds' footprints trampled into the snow, going all around the edge of my patio table. I imagined the fun the birds had had walking through the snow, and it led me to think about whether they have other adventures like kicking up the leaves the way we like to....!
