The Rabbit Child primitive rabbit boy
Description
Found wandering in the wood...a small rabbit child. He's a little shy, as many woodland folk are. He says he's come to help the Easter Rabbit distribute the eggs, but can not find him anywhere. I explain that he has awoken from his slumber a little early. "Probably another unintended consequence of the global emission of greenhouse gasses", he replies. 'Yes', I whisper quietly, 'probably'.
The Rabbit Child is one of my new Spring designs. He sits about 21cm tall, measuring to the top of his ears. He is made from a cotton fabric, hand-painted, sanded and dyed to give him a primitive/ folk art look. He has a little needle-felted tail and four vintage mother of pearl buttons to finish him.
The Rabbit Child is one of my own designs, and was stitched on an old singer treadle sewing machine. He is intended as a decorative item and not intended for children.
Inspiration
inspired by the illustrations of Julia Donaldson (The Gruffalo's Child) and Maurice Sendak (Where the Wild Things Are).
