This “Tide Clock” has been handmade in Norfolk from a piece of weathered plywood washed up along the local coast. It has been cleaned, cut to shape and had a gold paint effect applied over the top of a red and green coat of acrylic paint. This has then been distressed to give a weathered effect. The numerals have been sprayed in red with a white shadow effect, finally the tide clock has been varnished for added protection.

The clock face shows the High and Low Tide times and hours until the next tide.

Tide clocks have a special clock movement which keeps an approximation of the average time between high lunar tides which is 12 hours 25 minutes per revolution. As the precise average time between high lunar tides is actually half of a lunar day, or 12 hours 25 minutes 14 seconds, all tide clocks gain about 15 minutes per month and must be reset periodically.

This would make a great gift for Surfers, Beach Lovers, Sailing Enthusiasts, Beach Hut Owners.

The tide clock has a quality quartz movement and takes 1 x AA Battery (included). There is a hook on the back so it is ready to hang from your wall.
