Inspiration

The cobra stitch was the first knot I learned to do when I returned back to knotting - after many years! It's a lovely flexible but strong knot and so useful for many items. When I was wearing a bracelet I made I thought - this would make a comfortable dog collar. The ones I had seen in the various shops always seemed a bit stiff to me! The dog lead/leash came a bit later after one of my customers suggested I tried to make one. The leads are made of a single length of paracord (or 2 lengths, obviously, if you choose two different colours). They are finished off with 3 Turks Head knots which are pretty fiddly to do but look very effective! The paracord has an average of 550lbs break strain so it should be able to cope with most dogs, no matter how hard they pull!
