Perfect for serving a mince pie to a loved one this Christmas, and equally good for decoration all year round, this lacy heart was made by pressing vintage lace into the surface of soft clay. The texture created was emphasized by adding deep ruby glaze to the surface. I left the underside quite plain, with a little fabric texture.

There are many uses for this piece. It would make the perfect holder for a little candle, you could use it to keep keys or jewellery safe, or you could use it as a soap dish. It could even be used to serve a cupcake or tiny treat to someone special. The texture is so pretty that you may well decide to keep it empty for decoration in your home.
