The Hole of Horcum is a huge natural depression in the North York Moors. This print is inspired by air photos of this geological anomaly and the work of 19th cartographers. The green represents the lush green pasture that lines the eastern side of the Hole, the purple represents the the heather and moorland on the west with little bundles of white bog cotton and flashes of green where last season's burning has encouraged new growth.
