Boxed Chain - artists book
Description
Original painting presented as an artists tunnel book. Constructed in two layers the chain and harbour wall are mounted separately to the water background. The recycled plywood case also forms the frame of this free standing piece. Hinged with decorative wire fittings the front of the box opens to reveal the picture. Approx. 1.5 cm deep
Inspiration
One of a series of small artists books that i have been constructing-all using the chain image. The small format is one that often difficult to display but this book format seems to enhance intrinsic ideas of secrecy and discovery as the image is covered in its closed state - what do you think?
