At Retro Nouveau we take retro and vintage pieces of furniture and transform them into beautiful contemporary pieces that will compliment any room.

This beautiful sideboard is in very good vintage condition, all original woodwork has been waxed and the interior teak oiled. The teal and white pattern is Formica and has been professionally applied to provide a very hard wearing and durable surface that will last many more years. The two doors have been fitted with push release fittings as the handles have been removed so as not to distract from the surface pattern.

I have always loved retro furniture and after completing a BA Hons in Furniture and Interior Design I began experimenting with methods of up cycling. I am inspired by the simple lines of retro furniture and enjoy taking some what undesirable and discarded pieces and bringing them into the 21st century by applying contemporary surface patterns using Formica - a very hard wearing durable plastic laminate.
