Inspiration

When I studied for my degree I did a piece on traditional fairy tales and I used this tower in an installation about Rapunzel. I fell in love with it and ever since have wanted to paint it with the church in the distance. The tower sits at the top of a hill at the far side of Weston-super-Mare and is a beautiful place to walk. I wanted to do a monocrome painting, but found it lacked something so I added colour glazes at the end to enhance the image. I am pleased with the results.
