Description
Hand Crafted Hessian and Hand Cut Paper 30cm Diameter Lampshade.
This individual hand crafted lamp shade consists of oatmeal coloured Hessian fabric that has a decorative underlay of hand-cut brown paper. When the shade is unlit the paper is slightly visible through the open weave of the fabric, and when lit a more dramatic effect is achieved, with the paper underlay giving a beautiful warm shadow effect .
The shade has carefully hand rolled edges and is backed with a flame retardant white PVC backing. This shade works a a large table lamp shade, floor lamp shade or as a ceiling pendant light shade by simply reversing the shade and therefore the design.
A smaller 20cm diameter version of this shade is also available from my folksy shop priced £26.
The shade has an epoxy coated wire ring that fits standard UK 25mm light fittings or can be easily converted to fit larger 40mm light fittings by simply squeezing out the converter plug that is attached.

Inspiration
I enjoy working with the effect light has when shining through different materials including fabric and paper. The hessian fabric used in this shade with its open weave allows light to shine through warmly , whilst the hand-cut paper layered underneath the fabric gives a lovely shadow effect.
