Enchanted Times Issue #3.5 vol ii: Cover Up! is a standard 8 page mini-zine, each page approx. 7.5 x 10.5cm, and printed on 100gsm recycled paper.

- we print a postcard received from one of our reporters in the Big City with a heavily censored message regarding a recent scandal involving the Emperor
- we consider the implications of the corrupt bureaucracy of the Big City, misuse of the Correspondence Assured Delivery Treaty, and an unenforcible new law
- breaking news regarding a one-legged but very steadfast tin soldier, a rat, and a paper boat
- advertisements from various sponsors (including Truth-Be-Told Mirrors and Pre-Enchanted Princes), without whom this mini issue would not have been possible

Inspiration

Like Spin! (ET #3.5 vol. i), this mini-zine was the result of a mail art challenge, in which the challenge was to create a piece based on favourites chosen by somebody else. The postcard shown on the front page was one I actually sent to my partner; the challenge to myself was writing a text on the card that would still make sense (with opposite meaning) after the censors blacked out various words. Unlike the other Enchanted Times Mini zines, the contents of this one are really a summary of that mail art experiment, albeit from a fictional perspective. Like the Rumpelstiltskin story, I had not previously given much thought to the Emperor's New Clothes, but since beginning the process, an idea is in mind for a new story for Enchanted Times #4. Hidden somewhere within Cover up! you will also find passing reference to another fairy tale which has intertwined itself with the Emperor, in my mind, for the new story.
