Meet Eliza, so called because her cool-britannia-ish red white & blue styling made me think she was a bit of a tribute to her majesty, but she looked a little too quirky to be an Elizabeth.

Boutique birdies are pretty, frivolous little treats with one purpose in life - to pin themselves to the garment of your choice and bring a little frippery and colour to each and every day, just because.

Boutique Birdies were born out of my huge love of pretty fabrics and embellishments coupled with my complete lack of sewing machine skills.
Due to the latter, each birdie is entirely hand crafted. The pieces are cut and assembled by hand, the wings are appliqued the old fashioned way with a needle & thread, and the same goes for all the embellishments.

Once they're all dressed up, each birdie has a silver plated brooch attached to her back before being lovingly blanket stitched together, complete with a spectacular tail of ribbons in coordinating colours.

Their vital statistics are approx 6.5cm from beak to tip of tail (not including the ribbony extravagance), and around 5cm at their widest point from top to bottom. Their ribbony tails vary from bird to bird, so have a peek at the photos for more detail.

Each one is entirely unique - the button & ribbony goodness is selected for each birdie individually from my ever-growing stash of new & vintage treats.

The end result is a detailed little chunk of pretty with it's own unique look and style, waiting to fly off and meet her new owner.
