This mixed-media mermaid is 30 cm tall, from her flat-top head to the elegant curve of her tail, measures 15 cm across and, at her deepest point (the tip of her tail) sits 10cm from the wall on which she hangs. She's entirely hand-made by Tom Bloor, scratch built from card, papier mache, wire, a carved block of polystyrene covered in a skim of plaster and a bit of acrylic paint. Designed as a wall-piece, this little relief sculpture hangs from a loop of wire behind the mermaid's head. Having been made from very light materials, it requires only a small hook or nail to secure it to the wall. Not really suitable to be hanging free, like a mobile however - the back of the piece was made to face the wall and not to be displayed.
