The Japanese are famous for the value they place on the beauty of nature. This pendant, made with Japanese chiyogami paper, captures all of the tradition of Japan, whilst remaining modern and understated. Although the paper is flat, with no indentations or embossing, the hand-printing techniques used for this paper mean that the scene has a 3D effect.

The paper was handmade in Japan. I applied the paper to the back of the glass tile and sealed it in using several coats of glaze. The bail and the 16" curb chain are both silver plated. Please note that the pendant is splashproof but not waterproof and so should not be worn when swimming or showering.

The pendant itself measures around 6cm from the top of the bail to the bottom of the pendant.
