I make these brooches using pages of unwanted books, using quilling and coiling to create a paper flower.

I've added a pearl to the centre, to give it a touch of shine - the gentle sheen of the pearl is enhanced by the soft colours of the paper.

This would make a lovely gift for mum, book lovers of all ages. It could also be worn as a wedding corsage!

The brooch is finished on the back with a closable pin back.

To protect it from the elements, I've coated the paper in a clear sealant that also makes the paper stronger and resistant to tears.

The brooch is 7cm in diameter.
