Stoneware Ceramics Pottery Amphora with Metal Stand
Description
This is a handmade ceramic amphora vase made by me using coiling and pinching techniques from a pale stoneware clay and fired to 1250c. It is decorated using ceramic glazes and metal leaf which is applied after the firing process. It stands on a metal base which was designed especially for it to sit in. My inspiration for this piece comes from a mixture of influences including ancient greek and eygptian artefacts and the wonderful surroundings of the New Forest where I live.
