A hand built one of a kind sculpture from my 'tree series' of stoneware sculptures. This autumnal tree's foliage is decorated with embossed leaves, picked out with a wash of coloured underglaze to create a delicate matte effect. There is an impressed texture on the trunk again highlighted with brown underglaze. The grassy base is stamped with my maker's mark. It has a generous silver crescent moon rising above it, standing on strong florist's wire, and is covered with metal leaf. This tree looks great standing on it's own as a statement piece, or, as in the last pictures, with a group of some other trees from the series.
