PRETTY 'HOUSE ON THE HILL' HAND SEWN PATCHWORK CUSHION

Whilst spending time on holiday in Dorset England, I was inspired by the beautiful scenery and the villages scattered with thatched cottages. I decided to make a cushion from this old-time patchwork block called 'House on the Hill' as it reminded me of these pretty cottages.

I have hand sewn the Patchwork Cottage and used pretty Pink Florals with a green Polka Dot Door and Window and a Wild Strawberry Roof.

I have then added by machine a Pink Gingham border in the Log Cabin style.

The patchwork front is lined to protect the pieced seams.

The reverse of the cushion has an envelope opening and is made from soft Cream Calico fabric with a subtle stripe.

I have machine sewn the seams for extra strength. They have been overcast for a neat finish and to prevent fraying.

I have used all 100% cotton fabrics.

The cushion measures approximately 19.5"/49.5cm square and includes a polyester cushion pad.

I would recommend hand washing the cover due to the hand sewn patchwork.

Handmade by myself on holiday in our beloved motorhome, Harvey J, and then finished in my cosy sewing room in the Cotswolds Hills.
