'Silk butterfly' is an envelope-style flat purse which closes with a mother-of-pearl button fastening. Measuring approx. 12 x 14cm, it has a red silk dupion main body, and a cream silk front flap, which is embroidered with a teal green and red butterfly. The red dupion has a slubbed, slightly textured surface, which is characteristic of this type of silk. The purse is finished with a red ribbon trim, and is lined throughout in gold satin fabric.
