...or it could be a nøstepinde, nystepinne, nosty or yarn ball winder. A Scandinavian "nest stick" is just the right tool, after a bit of practice, for creating centre pull balls of yarn that are much tidier than a birds' nest!

Yarn fiends of all persuasions will find one of these really useful.

I'm offering three here, in yew. All are hand-turned, so each one is unique. I have incorporated (craftily, I thought) a 'wraps per inch' gauge into the handle. Overall the nostepinne measures around 10" and the 'working part" is 5".If you have a preference for one of the nostepinnes, please quote the number on the photograph when you order.
