The blue of the sea and sky - end of day sea glass pendant on sterling silver chain
Description
A gorgeous piece of genuine 'end of day' sea glass from the North East of England, at least 75 years old is mounted on a silver played bail and hangs from an 18 inch / 45cms sterling silver curb chain.
Definitely one of a kind - pieces like this are rare, and getting rarer - this piece is layered shades of bright and dark blue on clear glass, but beautifully frosted by the movement of the waves and sand over years.
End of day sea glass is what it says; glass used by the makers, at the end of the day and in their own time. Perhaps they made a vase, perhaps to give, perhaps to sell, perhaps they just dumped the waste glass at the end of the day. Because they were using what was left the colours were mixed and mingled. Years later the glass is washed up on a beach, a treasure waiting to be found. I don't shape or colour my glass. This is how the maker first made and Mother Nature perfected.
This little piece of history comes gift boxed ready for giving, with both care instructions and some information on the history of sea glass.
