This unusual pair of ear studs are made from an old broken skateboard deck. Skateboards are made from a 7 ply Canadian maple with a coloured or patterned outer layer. The earrings feature the blue shine varnished upside of the deck with original scratches from being thrashed.

The outer edges have been sanded and sealed with natural beeswax seals and preserves the natural colour of the wood.

The earrings are approximately 1cm in diameter and are supplied on silver plated ear studs with matching butterfly clasps.

I belong to a family of skaters and I have an abundance of old broken and un-used skateboards laying around my house. My husband has mounted some in our house and is also making garden gates, chairs and tables out of the whole ones. I have bagsied the broken pieces to create this wonderful line of jewellery.
