Cream ribbon roses in the foreground of this embroidered brooch are set against a mixed border.

The background of this brooch has been needle felted using hand-dyed fibres, including merino and silk. The roses and buds in the foreground are stitched in a silk ribbon. The roses, lillies, irises etc in the border are stitched in embroidery threads using a combination of simple sticthes.

Couched yarns in two shades of green, twisted together, frame the design. The brooch is reinforced by plastic cut from a recycled bottle, The back of the brooch is neatened with felt and a brooch pin is securely stitched in place.
