I found this fabulous soft vintage linen with a delectable print of a bowl of flowers - roses, daisies, irises and more -in gorgeous muted blues and tans, amongst my fabric stash.
I thought it would make a fantastic bag, but it needed to be BIG in order to show off the fabric to full effect.

I had enough fabric to make two bags if I used it on the front only, so the back of the bag is made from a soft linen.

The top of the tote bag is trimmed with a pleated blue gingham frill to match the lining and handles.

Inside there is a very useful two-in-one pocket.

The bag is big! Ideal for taking on holiday, to carry all the usual paraphernalia. 46cm wide x 49cm deep (inc frill)
The handles measure 62cm and are long enough to hang the bag from one shoulder or over your arm.
Too long, perhaps, to hold in your hand, unless you are very tall, or have long arms!!
