Roman and Greek societies were the leaders of the Ancient World. The Greeks were considered to be the leaders in fashion and style, so the Roman style of dress is similar and the costumes can be interchanged for a broader view of fashion in those times. In general men's fashion was shorter than women's. Salves often wore very little and peasants, (who were free men) simply wore what they could afford. Toga's were formal wear used to dress up for special occasions.
