Handmade Crackled Green Glaze, Leaf Ceramic Decorative Bowl
Description
This piece is a rustic shaped bowl, I like the quirky aspect of my bowls in that they are not absolutely round, absolutely perfect. I like the freedom with clay, never knowing how my piece will take shape just letting it do what feels right. I first made the bowl freehand and then made the leaves and attached them to the bowl. There are three leaves inside the bowl and a lovely band of them on the outside. I used a lovely crackle green glaze and some crystals which when fired create a lovely two tone effect. This is more eye candy than a practical piece. If you are looking for a stunning piece to finish off a room then this is a contender.
Inspiration
The inspiration for making this bowl is all the lovely bright colours of the leaves as they open up from their winter sleep. I love the rich hues of green to the inside of the bowl. I enjoy working with clay and sometimes a piece just happens, you have no prior plan and this was one of those pieces.
