I use vintage, new and recycled textile in all my work. I always use natural fibres; cottons, linens and silks and choose them carefully for their individual textures and colours. I screen-print patterns and images to further embellish the textile surface and often dye my own fabric. I then cut and collage my fabric to create the images. The collage is secured with machine embroidery.

The background to this piece is cut from a vintage printed cotton, bought by my mother in Hong Kong in the 1970's. The letters are all made from various hand-dyed cotton, which I have screen-printed with different patterns. Each letter is then carefully appliqued onto the background in different coloured threads, giving them a thick and colourful border.

Artwork is stretched around a wooden stretcher bar frame and is supplied with 'D-rings' and picture cord for wall-hanging.

Dimensions: height 25cm, width 45cm, depth 2cm.

Artwork is bubble-wrapped for shipping in a sturdy cardboard box.
